La Rochelle Map

The Libeau Descendents Inc is based in Canterbury with members mostly in New Zealand and France.  There are approximately 3,500 descendants in New Zealand with around 30 in France.

The society was founded in 1994.

The chairman is Vaughan McEwen with a committee of twelve.  Patron of the society is the French Honorary Consul of Christchurch.

A North Island branch is intended to be set up in the near future.

A Comte de Paris group has been set up for all the families that landed in Akaroa.
